The Mission Advancement Program at Walnut Park Montessori School is an integral component of the school's operation and mission. Mission Advancement is an important element in determining the school's strategic plan for the future.
Walnut Park Montessori School employs a part-time mission advancement officer who is responsible for the oversight and coordination of all mission advancement projects. The school relies on parent involvement, input, leadership, volunteerism and financial contributions.
Ordinarily, each year's mission advancement projects include a Spring Auction, and an Annual Fund. In addition, there are friend raising events that bring us together as a school community such as the Opening School Picnic, the Winter Celebration of Song and Light, and the Spring Gathering. Our Mission Advancement Program also draws us beyond our school boundaries and calls us to teach our children about sharing with our brothers and sisters who need us to care and who allow us an opportunity to serve them. We do this through Make a Difference Week each Fall, the Giving Tree project each Christmas, an Earth Day Celebration, and a willingness to become involved in any project where we think we might be able to make a difference.
This combination of fund raising, friend raising, and service to our "dear neighbor" gives witness to our children and makes Walnut Park Montessori School a strong community for them and for the world. You're invited to join us in this noble venture!

The Spring Auction is the major fundraising event of each school year. All proceeds directly benefit the children of Walnut Park Montessori School. We are indebted to our parent volunteers and our Mission Advancement Officer who work in partnership to make this both a fund raiser and a friend raiser. If you are interested in donating to our Spring Auction or attending this event, please contact the mission advancement office at 617-969-9208 ext.3.
