SISTERS OF SAINT JOSEPH
Acknowledging a profound need for unity and reconciliation in the broken places in people's lives and in society, the Sisters seek to help people recognize God's active and inclusive love for all individuals. Since their arrival at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, Jamaica Plain in 1873 they have attempted to meet the needs of God's people by standing with the poor, by striving to eliminate ignorance, suffering, and oppression, and by embodying a spirit of peace in their own actions and demeanor. Their many talents are offered within a framework of deep spirituality which is enhanced and nurtured by the commitment to each other and to the spirit of the gospel message of Jesus Christ. The Sisters "Share ministry with other women and men, seeking through this collaboration to bring greater fruition to the diversity of gifts which the Spirit imparts."
